Highway Dedication

Due to the hard work and dedication of Joe Giammichele, I received the following email from Speaker Carl E. Heastie of New York:

Dear Friend,

Thank you for contacting my office to express your support for legislation that pays tribute to the service of the 6994th Security Squadron has provided to our state and country. I would like to update you on this matter.    

The Assembly, along with the Senate, passed a measure to designate a portion of Interstate 86 as the 6994th Security Squadron Memorial Highway (A.9664-B). It is now up to Governor Cuomo to sign this important piece of legislation into law. Feel free to contact the governor to urge him to follow our lead.   

To my knowledge, this is the first honor of this kind for our squadron.
